OK yes it's August. I have never had to think about Christmas in August before until I become a candle maker.
Candles at Christmas are a thing. I myself love a Christmas candle. It adds to the atmosphere and excitement in the run up to the big day.
But August? Due to the nature of soy wax, two week minimum curing time is necessary for a strong hot throw (the aroma filling the room when the candle is lit). I personally test each and every scent. So after the two weeks curing, if the scent is not strong enough, I have to start the process again. In order to have a high quality selection of festive candles ready for the end of September, I have to start testing now!
My house is smelling of candy canes and cinnamon and baked goods at the moment! It certainly is getting me in the mood for the festive season. I might even put Elf on.
