As well as online, I have started to set up a stall at various events and markets with different results.
Luckily, my first one was a success. It was a primary school summer fete in my hometown. I was nervous meeting the public with my creations for the first time. I didn't know if people would like the candles and if I would even sell any at all. I had a slow start but by the end of the day I had sold 19 candles. To me, this was a win and a positive start to selling face-to-face.
And I plummeted back down to despair when I attended a car boot sale a few miles away the following weekend. I got up at 6am and headed up the M62 to set up my little table. Not one candle sold. Not even close to a sale.
But I didn't let it get to me. I got back on the horse and took part in a Sunday market last weekend in a nearby village. Although I didn't sell a lot, there was interest and engagement. I had lots of positive feedback about my candles which was lovely.
I have other markets lined up in August, and although some may go better than others, it won't deter me. I'll' just keep swimming'.
